A Little Background Information On Our Hosts!

Theresa Conti  APR, QKA, ERPA, CPFA

TSC Consulting

Theresa has been working toward women standing out in the financial services industry since she began her career in the late 1980’s. Since that time, she has worked in many aspects of the retirement plan industry and regularly moved up until she started Sunwest Pensions in 1998. In 2023, she sold Sunwest Pensions and now wants to work with business owners and with women who need help to continue their careers in financial services. Being both a life coach and a business coach, allows her to share her knowledge and experience with others.

She founded True Strategy Consultants which is a consulting and coaching firm. Theresa will continue her retirement industry involvement which includes speaking engagements, writing articles and being a visible and active member of the retirement plan industry. She will also help other business owners to build, grow and exit their business using her knowledge of being a full cycle entrepreneur (starting, building, and selling her business).

Theresa wants to empower other women to have and build a successful career in the financial services industry. The ratio of men to women is still off even though it has greatly improved since she joined the industry. Empowering others to have greater personal and professional success is key.

Before True Strategy Consultants and Sunwest Pensions, Theresa held various other roles in companies that specialized in retirement plan services. During her career she also obtained many industry designations including: QKA (Qualified 401k Administrator with ASPPA), APR (Accredited Pension Representative with NIPA), ERPA (Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent with the IRS) and CPFA (Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor with NAPA). Theresa also worked with a joint task force of ASPPA and NIPA working with the IRS to develop the ERPA program.

Theresa has also spent time volunteering with industry organizations and other non-profit organizations. She worked with NIPA on the Arizona Chapter, the National Conference committee and ultimately on the Board of Directors of NIPA for 11 years including serving as President for 18 months. Theresa also helped found the Arizona Chapter of WIPN (WE. Inspire. Promote. Network) before joining the board as chair of National Programming and Research. Theresa also is a frequent speaker at NIPA and ASPPA events along with writing articles for Plan Consultant Magazine.

Theresa also is on two other non-profit boards. She joined the Board of the Fountain Hills Community Foundation in 2023 after volunteering with them for several years. And in 2024, she joined the Board of Junior Achievement of Arizona after co-chairing the 4.01k Fun Run Committee since it’s inception in 2020.

Additionally, Theresa and her husband founded the Peter and Theresa Conti Foundation in 2018 with a goal to support educational and other organizations in their local community that focus on children and families with need.

Ivana Polonijo, Ph.D., AIF

Courageous Being

Ivana has been encouraging other humans to step into the pivot and value and express their authenticity since first grade when she helped another little girl stand up to bullies. Today, in her work with individuals and organizations, she blends academic research as a Ph.D. in social anthropology, executive experience from 15+ years in finance, and non-profit board service, with transformative coaching and bioenergetics facilitation training.

She founded Courageous Being, a center focused on helping women+ and allies navigate the new business era (both at work and home) through conscious leadership techniques. The center’s services are steeped in inner-work techniques and help individuals and teams step out of stress mode and embody a poised, influential calm no matter what the moment brings.

Having spent a significant portion of her career in finance, Ivana’s passion is empowering individuals and organizations who operate in the financial industry (and, in particular, retirement planning and investment management), and helping them embody intentional personal development, which leads to professional success.

Before Courageous Being, Ivana most recently served as Chief Client Officer at Fiduciary Decisions. In this role, she led FDI’s Client Success team of service and operations professionals to ensure integrated customer experience for the organization’s new and existing clients, including many of the industry’s biggest and most respected 401(k) service providers.

Before joining FBi, she spent close to 10 years at M Financial, where she was the lead of the organization’s Retirement Services platform responsible for the qualified plan line of business representing over $20B of assets under the advisement of 60+ independent advisor Member Firms. Before joining M Retirement Services, she had served as a Compliance Officer with the company’s Broker-Dealer/RIA.

Ivana currently serves on WIPN national Board as President Elect. WIPN — WE | Inspire | Promote | Network — is a non-profit organization that advances equity and opportunity for women in the retirement industry.
